After seven acclaimed novels set in the gay milieu (Fag Hag, Closet Case, What They Did to Princess Paragon, Drag Queen, Kept Boy, Bitch Goddess and When You Were Me), Robert grew restless for new challenges and decided to re-brand himself as an author of nonfiction. His first endeavor, Dogged Pursuit: My Year of Competing Dusty, the World’s Least Likely Agility Dog, was released by Hudson Street Press in 2009. His newest effort, Seven Seasons In Siena: My Quixotic Quest for Acceptance Among Italy’s Proudest People, is a 2011 release from Ballantine Books.
He is also republishing his early novels as e-books under the heading Robert Rodi Essentials, and has also released an original novel, The Sugarman Bootlegs, as a digital download.
Robert is the creator of several comic-book series, including Codename: Knockout and The Crossovers, and he has written a number of series for Marvel, including Elektra, Rogue, Tomb of Dracula, Astonishing Thor, Loki and Thor: For Asgard.
Robert’s shorter fiction can be found in a number of anthologies, including Men On Men 5, His, and Sandman: Book of Dreams, and his novella Glad, Gladder, Gladys was serialized online at USAToday.com. His literary criticism has appeared in the pages of The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, NewCity, and The Harvard Gay and Lesbian Review. He blogs about the Chicago performing arts scene for The Huffington Post, and pens his own self-proclaimed "guerilla lit-crit" blog on Jane Austen, Bitch In a Bonnet.
He was a founding member of the Chicago-based performance art troupe, The Pansy Kings, who were active throughout the 1990s, and he wrote sketches for the Live Bait Theater’s revues Junk Food and Dear Jackie: The Queen of Camelot Remembered. Recently he became an auxiliary member of the monologuist ensemble BoyGirlBoyGirl.
Robert still lives in Chicago, in a century-old Queen Anne house with his partner Jeffrey Smith and a constantly shifting number of dogs.

Lionsgate officially announced today that the glam squad-like roles have been filled by actresses Latarsha Rose and Brooke Bundy, respectively.
But who are the two actresses lucky to win the casting lottery?
Meet Latarsha Rose, who will be playing the role of Peeta Mellark’s stylist, Portia.
Rose has appeared in bit roles on All My Children, CSI, Bones, Swingtown, Windfall, and Law & Order. Ironically, Rose also appeared on the 2002 reality show, The It Factor, which followed 12 New York City actors as they go about the struggle of "making it" in the entertainment business.

Royal Wedding
The wedding of Prince William and his bride-to-be Kate Middleton has received immense media coverage and is expected to be receive more than one billion viewers worldwide Friday.
With such great media attention surrounding the wedding, more specific details have been made public as the date grows closer. About 1,900 people have been invited to the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. About 650 guests were invited to the lunchtime reception at Buckingham Palace to be hosted by the queen.
Approximately 300 guests were invited to dinner, also at Buckingham Palace, to be hosted by the prince of Wales. More than 50 members of the royal family are expected to attend, along with other members of royal families from other foreign countries.
Security for the big day will include enough police and guards to form a small army. London’s police force, the Metropolitan Police, is putting 5,000 officers on duty for the day.
Chief Inspector Jessica Wadsworth said there were no signs the royal wedding was being targeted by terrorists but the Met Police were taking no chances.
"For an event such as this we have put a meticulous plan into operation. What we have done since the engagement announcement 22 weeks ago is plan for this day and identify any risks," Inspector Wadsworth said, according to published reports.
The royal wedding has captured the world’s attention not only because of the glamorous and royal aspect, because for some, to witness an event of this magnitude is a once-in-a-lifetime chance that will undoubtedly go down in history.

JT DJs and mixes eclectic tunes, runs thoughtful beatbox effects over other DJs, and creates live, customized video projections and lighting installations at some of the best parties in Seattle + beyond. Hooker collaborates with some of Seattle’s best parties/venues such as ETG, Pony, Chop Suey, Re-bar, The Uniting Souls, The Church of Bass, The Baltic Room, Bumbershoot, The War Room, Three Dollar Bill Cinema, Cal Anderson Park, The Eagle, Qulture Qreative, trapeze parties @ The Emerald City Aerial Dome, Capitol Hill’s Hollow Earth Radio, and various events on the empty lot of 500 Pine with The People’s Parking Lot.

Seattle Frontrunners is a running and walking club of over 300 gay and lesbian members and their friends. We welcome everyone’s participation, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or athletic ability.
In 1984, the Lesbian Resource Center sponsored Seattle’s first annual Run With Pride. Shortly thereafter, Seattle Frontrunners was formed. We’ve been running together ever since.
Seattle Frontrunners is a member of International Front Runners, Gay & Lesbian International Sport Association, Federation of Gay Games, and Pacific Northwest Track & Field (our local chapter of USA Track & Field).
Here in the northwest, our sister clubs are Bellingham Frontrunners, Vancouver Frontrunners and Portland Frontrunners.
Some of our members are also active with other local LGBT sports clubs, such as Seattle Orcas, OutVentures, Ski Buddies, Different Spokes and Team Seattle.

John and his longtime friend and ex - partner, Peter Fox, go back to biblical times. In those days, such scriptural characters as Methuselah lived to be, quite literally, thousands of years old. John, himself, is thousands of years old and Peter Fox is, in fact, Methuselah. Before they founded Fox & Fluevog, in the ancient biblical age of 1970, they were shepherds. Actually, they worked at Sheppard’s, a venerable Vancouver shoe emporium, albeit a tad on the conventional side. As you can imagine, John and Peter felt a wee bit constrained, selling brogues all day to businessmen in suits and servicing only the occasional hipster. When, one day, the miraculous happened, it was followed by the inevitable: an old warehouse full of turn - of - the - century footwear (men’s & women’s, in mint condition, no less) became available to buy at one ridiculously low price. In a nanosecond, John and Peter were out the door and into their own store, fully stocked with brand new fifty year old shoes that, in 1969, were right in style. Fox & Fluevog immediately became the very coolest place to treat the feet and has remained so ever since. Around 1980, Peter heard the siren song of New York City and moved there to open his own store, specializing in design of Ladies’ (particularly wedding) shoes. John took over the business and built it into the multinational mega corporation it is today, along the way forging his undaunted reputation for the world’s most distinctive shoes.

Northern Xposure Weekend – affectionately dubbed “NX ” by veteran attendees -- is an LGBT social and fundraising event that takes place in Seattle each August. Produced by Rich Kaalaas of Rein Fire Ranch Productions, and the NX volunteers, it raises money for Lambert House, a resource center for GLBT youth. Various social gatherings – beach parties, dances, a boat cruise and other events – allow attendees to enjoy one of the most beautiful places in the country at a particularly beautiful time of year.
SLAM History
A Slam is a competition of performance poets that is judged by randomly picked members of the audience. The focus is equally split between the content/writing of the poem AND how the poem is performed. This opens up the stage to a wide range of work and engages the audience as active participants. Because of its format of inclusiveness, Slam has been referred to as the “Democratization of Poetry”.
Daemond Arrindell is the Slammaster for Seattle and five-time coach for the Seattle National Slam team. The man who’s been pulling the levers behind the curtains of the great and powerful Seattle Slam for 4 years. He is a Poet, organizer, activist and all around nice guy.
Daemond is in this for the love of the word: written and spoken, and its power to alter the emotional state of being. Currently, he is heading up a Spoken-Word residency at the men’s correctional facility in Monroe, Wa, is a faculty member of Freehold Theatre/Studio lab teaching performance poetry and spoken word and is Seattle Poetry Slam’s nominee for Poet Populist.
Karen Finneyfrock - published poet, former Slammaster of the Seattle Poetry Slam, teacher andcommunity organizer. Karen has rocked stages from both behind the scenes and in front of the mike. Karen began her love affair with spoken word as a member of the ‘99 Washington, D.C. National Slam Team. After moving to Seattle in 2001 she became a recurring feature at the Seattle Poetry Festival; toured West Coast colleges with Word Core (Buddy Wakefield, Eitan Kadosh and Gregory Hischak); wrote and performed parts in C.R. Avery’s hip hop opera to crowds in San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.; and has been a featured performer at poetry venues all across the country including the National Poetry Slam, Louder Arts/Bar 13 (NY), Berkeley Poetry Slam (CA), and The Naropa Institute (CO).
Jodie Knowles - actress, make up artist, hair stylist, poet and host - Jodie can do it all. In her first year of slam competition, Jodie earned a spot on the Grand Slam stage and won over the the crowd with heart, sincerity and her own personal truths. She extends the same to all the poets who touch the stage at the Seattle Slam. Jodie has recently become a board member of the Bent Writing Institute.

The Ginas have toured nationally, selling out the Knitting Factory Old Office in NYC, packing huge venues from Atlanta to Austin to Los Angeles to San Francisco and their video "BUTCH/FEMME" has screened at film festivals from Berlin to Milan and garnered over 60,000 hits on YouTube.
Team Gina has released two albums, GINA GINA REVOLUTION (2007) and PRODUCTS OF THE EIGHTIES, 2008. Products of the Eighties was engineered by RADIO SLOAN (Peaches, the Need) and features performances by LESLIE & THE LY’S and KIDS ON TV. TEAM GINA is made up of two fierce femmes: GINA BLING and GINA GENIUS, a former Homecoming Queen and Pageant Winner who have over 20 YEARS of dance classes and theater performances between them. Seattle Frontrunners is a running and walking club of over 300 gay and lesbian members and their friends. We welcome everyone’s participation, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or athletic ability.
In 1984, the Lesbian Resource Center sponsored Seattle’s first annual Run With Pride. Shortly thereafter, Seattle Frontrunners was formed. We’ve been running together ever since.

]]>Guerrilla Masquerade Party is a bi-monthly event consisting of large groups of people dressed in costumes of all sorts, arriving unannounced at various locations (most often bars). The concept comes from the tradition of Guerrilla Queer Bar -- where gays, lesbians, fags, dykes, trannies, bisexuals, and their friends show up en masse at ’straight’ bars, effectively turning them queer for the nite. The agenda of GMP is simply to dress up and have fun. Nothing political, nothing complicated. We just want to add a little variety to Seattle’s nitelife, and a little chaos while we’re at it.
Capitol Hill HIgh - The fourth and final installment of this boisterous satire, "Seeing Red: The Final Period," promises to wrap up the free-associative story that began a year ago, and had sold out tickets for limited seats to its previous three episodes.
