I'll be there Rain or Shine.
It's like a going to a packer's (bears, cubs, etc) in late fall. As long as there is beer and food, and beer and good company and beer, I'll be there.  Maybe... it's just the Wisconsin guy in me!! We are also going rain or shine.
We are planning to be downtown around noon. If it is not raining, then we will be in the park with the flags shown below:  If it is raining, then we will be at Jefferson Tap with the flags shown above. This is at 325 N Jefferson (take Randolph west to Jefferson and go north 2.5 blocks). Kat and I stopped there today (er...I guess yesterday now...) and they said they are usually very slow on Saturday afternoons so we should be able to take the place over. It is just a nice tavern that serves food too. Not huge, but I don't think we need huge. There is also a pool table and Golden Tee. If anyone has questions or gets lost along the way, I will have our Skype phone forwarded to my cell phone...773-828-4449. |

If anyone's checking still, we've (John and Wendy, Kat and me) got a pretty weak flag. We're a little left of center (looking at the stage) by the Petrillo Band Shell. We're between the two sidewalks, closer to the back one. Close to the beer tent by Lake Shore Drive.

Fun time had by all!
So glad to see and meet everyone face to face. We had a blast (so true). Kat is busy crying cuz she has to go home now. (So are we - sniff. sniff.) But it was awesome. We fought off the rain and it turned out to be a great day. Thanks to everyone who made the experience so fun. |

It was great meeting ya this weekend, and thanks for getting the pics up so quickly, I "borrowed" a few of them, as I was a moron and forgot my camera (made sure I could take hundreds of pics, recharged the batteries, then left it at home). They are actually DRINKING, not smoking. No, really! Kat also said she might come back for Taste of Chicago (early July), and Lollapalooza is in August...Maybe we can count on it not being cold in August, right?? maybe?? 130 bands, 8 stages to include: The Shins  (another Garden State reference!!) , Wolfmother, Kayne West, Flaming Lips, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Death Cab For Cutie, Wilco...Tix are not cheap, tho. Right now 3 day passes are $140, to be raised to $150 soon. Not sure if you can even buy a 1-day ticket. If so, you's probably be talking $75. Altho last year I remember people try to sell them, so you can probably find them cheaper on a ticket exchange website. I have bought and sold tickets through WLUP. They just have a ticket forum board that you can post tickets you have to sell and then you usually exchange emails or phone numbers to talk about a place to pick them up. Seems shady, but works great for times you can't use tickets for some reason. |
